In addition to the permanent introduction of the Arctic Red Maple, we are thrilled to present the Limited Edition ADANAC version. With only 157 pieces available – in celebration of Canada’s 157th year of independence – the ADANAC Arctic Red Maple watch symbolizes our national pride.
Each of the Limited Edition ADANAC watches feature a unique serial number and is engraved with Marathon's historic ADANAC branding on the side of the case. The term "ADANAC" (Canada spelled backward) holds significance for Marathon, dating back to a pivotal chapter in our company's history. During our time supplying Allied Forces, certain government contracts restricted branding on timepieces. In response, Marathon introduced the "ADANAC" marking to signify that the watches were crafted in Canada. Timepieces featuring this unique branding are extremely rare and have become sought-after collector's items. This new addition to the Arctic and Maple Collections features a bold ADANAC case engraving to pay homage to this piece of Marathon history in a new way.
The Arctic Red Maple GSAR features a striking Red Maple Leaf appliqué on a stark white dial specially designed for increased legibility. This bold maple leaf emblem represents the strength, resilience, and unity of our nation. The white dial, reminiscent of the untouched landscapes of the Canadian Arctic, serves as a backdrop to the vibrant red maple leaf, creating a visually stunning tribute to Canada.
Designed in Canada and Swiss-made for ultimate precision, the Arctic Red Maple GSAR Collections is equipped with a 26 Jewel Sellita SW200-1 movement. It’s also packed with Incabloc™ shock absorbers, ensuring reliability and durability even after extreme shock. As part of the SAR (Search And Rescue) series, this timepiece is purpose-built for professional Search And Rescue technicians. The 316L stainless steel case includes a brushed finish, knurled screw-down crown, and our iconic oversized unidirectional 60-minute dive bezel. Tritium gas tubes on all hour markers and the full handset provide constant visibility in low light conditions. With a depth rating of 300 meters (1000 feet), this watch is designed to withstand the most extreme conditions.
